1857 outer letter sheet to Quebec franked by 1852-57 imperf 3d ‘Beaver’ and 6d. ‘Prince Albert’ both cancelled by fine ‘21’ numerals with Montreal cds in association below, arrival backstamp. The 3d with four fine margins and the 6c. with two large margins, complete but close margin at top and the right side not visible but appears complete from reverse. A very fine and attractive item.

1858 (1 Dec) registered CHARGE cover to London franked 1853 imperf Napoleon 80c (four close to large margins) tied by petits chiffres ‘2164’, Morlaix cds in association, framed ‘Apres/ Le/ Depart’ and scarce ‘crown’ FRANCE REGISTERED in red, London Paid cds bottom right, reverse with three surviving wax seals and two French transits; some slight ink erosion not unduly detracting.
1858 (24 Nov) outer letter sheet to London endorsed “Per Packet/ 24th Nov 1858” franked Great Britain 6d. lilac pair cancelled ‘A15’ obliterators, reverse with double-arc Grenada date stamp of NO 22 (the second ‘2’ of ‘22’ inverted), two red London backstamps
1858 (Apr 24) blue entire to Milan, Lombardy franked 1855-57 4d. wing marginal and two 6d. paying the double rate from London but not cancelled so struck with three ‘GB/ 2f62c’ accountancy handstamps upon rrival in France, oval-framed P-D. below and additionally endorsed “80” in red manuscript denoting the share of the postage in Centesimi due to the local postal authorities from the British Post Office, reverse with blue London thimble despatch and Milan arrival. Fine and most unusual.
1858 (MR 1) Outer lettersheet to India franked 1857-59 5d chestnut imperf, just touched at left, tied by grill cancel, Kandy Post Paid and Kandy Steamer Letter backstamps, Bombay arrival, rated '3/2' in blue crayon.
1858 (Nov 4) entire to La Rochelle, endorsed “pr Sonora” with despatch cds at right, San Francisco Cal 15 rate handstamp at left, 3 New York transit at right overstruck by French entry cds, reverse with Paris A Bordeaux and Paris cds together with arrival; some splitting along filing fold.
1858 (Sep 9) quadruple rate outer letter sheet without side flaps from St George’s to London franked Great Britain 1856 6d. lilac, a horizontal strip of four cancelled by ‘A15’ obliterators, reverse with GRENADA double arc cds with date error ‘0SP9’, London arrival alongside. A very rare usage, the strip of four being the largest franking of this value in Grenada. Ex. E.Yates 1940, J. Hackmey and H.Wood.
