British Post Offices: 1898 (9.12.) cover to London bearing very fine 1.P.T. Union Jack revenue stamp and International Occupation Governor Monfatsi with manuscript initials, passed to Austrian Post Office with 1pi on 10c tied Candia Oesterreichsche Post cds of 12th, redirected upon arrival with London square circle at top, London S.W. arrival backstamp. Extremely fine examples of the British handstamps, the Union Jack handstamp was in use only from December 1898 to July 1899; a little roughly opened with tear top left.
c.1860 printed circular from the ‘Canada Fur & Hat Company Montreal’ to Peterborough, franked by 1859 1c. pale rose, tied by ‘10’ numeral handstamp. Some separations along folds, still very attractive. It is rare for this handstamp to leave such a clear profile.

c1879 local envelope from Larnaca to Sir Robert Biddulph at Nicosia franked Great Britain 1864/79 1d. red plate 179, TI, tied by ‘942’ obliterator in black. Envelope slightly fragile, rare and still very fine. Sir Robert Biddulph became High Commissioner and Commander-in-Chief of Cyprus in July 1879.
