1913 Romanov Tercentenary group of eight proofs in purple shades on chalk surfaced paper, with the name of designer and engraver beneath the image, including 1k, 2k, 14k, 15k, 20k, 25k, 35k and 70k values, odd insignificant thin, the majority described at the Tsar Nicholas collection sold at Robson Lowe in 1935, published in Yamchik-Postal Rider 1983, No 12, pages 12 to 15; a rare assembly.
1913 ‘Avis De Reception’ form franked Sultanat D’Anjouan ‘10’ on 40c. tied St Marie Madagascar cds, to Tamatave, reverse with Maronantsetra transit on return journey. At this point all of the stamps from Madagascar & Dependencies were used interchangeably throughout the colony; slight faults at one corner of form, a rare usage. Ex. Grabowski.
