1874 (15 AU) large commercial solicitor’s wrapper registered to New York “per Cunard Stmr” franked with 1865-67 4d. deep vermillion plate 13 (2), 1867-80 2/- blue with small corner fault, 1867-83 5/- rose (watermark Maltese Cross), plate 1 FE plus GD-GE pair with 1873-80 1/- green plate 9, each cancelled by ‘466’ obliterators, manuscript “Registered/ 15/8/74” with double circle Registered Liverpool despatch cds in red, the reverse with three red wax seals and the pink ribbon still attached. Central vertical crease and 2/- defect. A fine and most unusual franking, Ex H. Fraser and Klempka.
